LIPODISSOLVE

What is LipoDissolve?

LipoDissolve is the process of injecting a natural enzyme, phosphatidylcholine (PPC) which breaks down fat in the body. When injected directly into troublesome fatty areas, PPC can readily break down these fat deposits that don't respond to diet and exercise.

How does the treatment work?

An entirely non surgical method, LipoDissolve uses a solution comprised of Lecithin and Phosphatidylcholine (PPC), enzymes produced by the gall bladder, responsible for breaking down fats in our body. The solution is injected into parts of the body with considerable fat deposits, which are then broken down and released over a period of a few weeks. Follow up sessions are carried out for areas with larger fatty deposits in order to achieve the desired size. Because Lecithin and PPC are naturally excreted in the body, the treatment has minimal side effects, such as swelling or bruising. The advantage of LipoDissolve is that it is directly injected into the affected fatty area, therefore speeding up the process of fat loss.

What is the difference between Mesotherapy and LipoDissolve?

Lipodissolve has been used in the treatment of fat dissolve, reduction of cellulite, and for body and facial contouring [eye fat pads, chin, jowles, neck, upper arms, upper back, abdomen, hips, thighs and buttocks]. The treatment sessions takes only minutes to complete and is reported safe with very few adverse side effects compared to the majority of cosmetic medical procedures. The Mesotherapy substances popular in United States have much more risks involved than Lipodissolve. Mesotherapy is also a much slower therapy in obtaining good results for fat dissolve than Lipodissolve. Positive results depend on experience and proper training.

What guarantee do I have that LipoDissolve Therapy really works?

There is no guarantee that any system of medicine will work in 100% of cases. The chances of success are always greater when performed by an experienced clinician and the patient follows the doctors advice precisely. The therapy is viewed as highly positive by the vast majority of patients. At the completion of the treatment plan, permanent reduction is achieved in 93% of all cases.

Who is a candidate for LipoDissolve?

Generally, most healthy adults 18 to 80 may have LipoDissolve for body sculpting and weight loss and cellulite treatment.

Who cannot have LipoDissolve?

If you have any of the conditions listed below, you are not a candidate for LipoDissolve:
pregnant or breast feeding, Diabetes, history of recent cancer, history of blood clots, on blood thinning medications, on multiple heart medications, history of severe heart disease, history of heart arrhythmias, history of stroke,
polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS, PCOD, Stein-Leventhal Syndrome) active kidney or hepatic disease, thyroid disease, Autoimmune Disease, Gross Obesity BMI > 30 and Allergies / Hypersensitivity to Phosphatidylcholine or Soy.

How fast will I see results?

The timing on when someone will see results depend on the area treated and the extent of the problem. Most patients see some results after the first treatment but desire additional reduction with additional treatments.  Larger areas with cellulite and fat should show improvement after two or three treatments.

Will the results last?

LipoDissolve for the treatment of cellulite or targeted body sculpting and spot fat reduction, is an effective treatment with permanent results as long as the pre-treatment weight is maintained.  Maintaining a regular exercise regime is also important.  Patients generally will elect to have a touch up treatment at approximately twelve months.

How long is the down time and recovery period?

Most experience swelling and soreness in the treatment area for approximately 2-3 days.  Some brusing may also occur.  You will want to wear loose fitting clothing at the time of your appointment.  Hot showers should be avoided for eight hours.  If treatments were performed on the face, avoid makeup for at least four hours.
Mesotherapy Before & After

What are the side effects and risks associated with LipoDissolve?

Possible side effects are generally mild and may include a few hours of burning or itching, as well as temporary soreness which can last from a few days to several weeks.  Nodules may be palpated with mild soreness lasting up to several weeks.  These will eventually resolve.

Does LipoDissolve replace Liposuction?

In many cases LipoDissolve offers an alternative to even the safest form of liposuction, tumescent liposuction, (see table below). LipoDissolve is a non-invasive alternative supported by several studies on "topical fat reduction". These studies concluded women who had LipoDissolve or Mesotherapy injections lost fat even without diet or exercise. About 100 people a year die because of liposuction, LipoDissolve has no deaths, stokes or heart attacks.

I have heard of LipoDissolve referred to as "The New Liposuction" what exactly does this mean?

LipoDissolve is the answer to the question that so many people have been asking: Is it possible to get rid of fat without having some kind of invasive procedure? For those who find liposuction "too much", LipoDissolve for fat loss and body contouring is absolutely the answer. For those patients who have already had liposuction and now find fat depositing in other areas as well as cellulite which has become worse, Lipodissolve therapy is the answer.

LipoDissolve has appeared in many discussions at medical conventions as the latest, safer alternative for non-surgical body-sculpting with small to medium fat reduction by mere PPC injections.

LipoDissolve Facts:

  • Safe option to liposuction
  • Results seen in 1-3 treatments
  • Insignificant side effects
  • Smoothes 'orange peel'
  • Reported well-being and vitality from treatment
  • Reduces cholesterol levels
  • Improves liver and cellular functions

LipoDissolve has several positive aspects in comparison with liposuction:

→Lipoplasty can cause permanent damage to fat cells and nerve damage; this has not been reported in any lipodissolve procedures.

→Lipoplasty can cause infections and bleeding, leading to death; lipodissolve has extremely rare cases of infection and no reports of bleeding or deaths.

→Future weight gain after liposuction can appear as disproportionate; future weight gain from lipodissolve is distributed evenly without 'bumps' or waves.

→Permanent damage from liposuction can cause structural damage to the mesoderm that appear as cellulite, skin irregularity or waviness of the skin surface; no structural damage or irregularities have been reported with lipodissolve.

→Recent reports from Europe state that every 9th lipoplasty procedure is a failure with some form of disadvantage or unsatisfactory results.

What should I do after this procedure?

You will want to wear loose clothing for a couple of days, avoid hot water at the treatment site for eight hours, and plan on avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours. As always, drink plenty of water to flush your system.  If you notice any signs extreme pain or excessive inflammation in the area treated please call the office for further evaluation.

Will the fat in the treated areas return?

No, the dissolved fat has not been reported to return. But new weight gain can build up new fat in the same areas. Exercise and appropriate dietary intake after LipoDissolve treatments have shown to extend long-term results. PPC injections are not a substitute to diet and exercise,  or a fat loss solution for extremely obese patients.

What areas of the body can be treated with LipoDissolve?

Double chin, jowles, neck, upper back, upper arm, upper and lower abdomen, hips, buttocks, inner and outer thigh, and knees.

Can Lipodissolve cause uneven fat loss?

No, this has not been known at all with LipoDissolve.  Injections are to be done in small distances apart and in limited doses per treatment. The time frame between treatments combined with the small doses per session provide ample opportunity to observe and monitor effects or reactions.

Is it effective on cellulite?

The Medical Term For Cellulite is Dermatomyoliposclerosis (DMLS).  Lipodissolve has been shown to improve and smooth out the skin.  It stimulates the mesoderm, or middle layer of the skin. This in turn helps to disperse cellulite.

Practitioners of LipoDissolve use a grading system for cellulite as follows:

Grade: Indicated By:
0 No dimpled "cottage cheese" is observed, even when skin is pinched
1 Pinching produces dimpled skin; not visible otherwise
2 Visible dimpled skin on a standing patient; dimpling disappears when patient lies down
3 Visibly dimpled skin regardless of patient's body position

After assessing the grade of cellulite, we can determine if you are a candidate for LipoDissolve. The treatment goal of LipoDissolve  is to get each patient to Grade 1.

How long does it take?

The goal of Grade 1 - no visible cellulite - is achieved through a series of 30 to 60 minute office visits. Once injected, the medications remain active for approximately two weeks. We recommend LipoDissolve sessions until the cellulite is gone. The "average" patient achieves her goal in 6-8 visits with one to two annual sessions for maintenance
.

I have an "athletic type" body so why do I have cellulite?

Women know that cellulite isn't "just fat" because diet and exercise don't get rid of it. Estrogen levels begin decreasing in many women by their late 20s. This brings a decrease in blood supply to the skin and fatty tissue under the skin, causes minute breaks in the connective tissue underlying the skin (called fenestration), and enlarges individual fat cells under the skin. The resulting enlarged fat cells then poke up (or herniate) through the breaks in the connective tissue causing the familiar "dimpled" or "cottage cheese" look to thighs, abdomen and buttocks.

How does LipoDissolve reduce cellulite?

Lipodissolve specifically treat the causes of cellulite. First, circulation of blood to the skin is increased. Next, the dysfunctional and broken connective tissue is cleared. Finally the enlarging fat cells are reduced by delivering medication to fat cell receptors that block the fat's entry. At the same time, the receptor that stimulates the fat's exit from the cell is turned on.

The result is much smoother legs, thighs and buttocks.  Any area of the body can be treated with this technique with dependable results.

LipoDissolve effects DMLS fat cells in the following ways:

  1. Dissolving excess of fat deposit
  2. Improving blood flow to the area
  3. Removing fibrotic, hardened connective tissue
  4. Improving lymphatic drainage

The result is a reduction of the orange peel appearance and in loss of fat in the treated areas. Because cellulite is a permanent condition it requires more treatments than fat reduction by itself.
