Often our first time Botox patients are concerned with looking overdone or "frozen", not have any movement and fear "everyone will know". You don't need to worry at OC Medical Aesthetics. We conservatively administer Botox to meet your needs. Meaning, we will establish your "baseline", by giving you the minimum amount of Botox required to correct the lines. The amount of Botox given is based on severity of the lines, strength and thickness of the muscle. Often, just 12 units injected between the eyebrows is sufficient to eliminate movement and diminish lines.
Is BOTOX safe?
BOTOX is a purified protein and has been used therapeutically for almost 20 years to treat a variety of medical conditions. It is approved in more than 75 countries and remains as one of the most widely researched medicines in the world. Used "off label" since 1990 for cosmetic purposes, Botox was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2002 for the correction of facial expression lines.
How can I be sure I'm getting real BOTOX Cosmetic?
Botox Cosmetic is manufactured by Allergan Corporation, located in Irvine California. OC Medical Aesthetics administers Botox directly received from Irvine. It is the only source for healthcare professionals to purchase the product with US FDA approval and labeling. To assure the authenticity of your Botox, our medical personnel will be more than happy to show you the "Allergan Hologram" which is located on the label of the vial. Botox manufactured outside of the United States will not have this hologram on the vial. Does Botox hurt?
OC Medical Aesthetics uses the smallest needle possible (about the size of an eyelash) and a variety of techniques to maximize your comfort during the treatment. If requested, we will apply a fast acting topical anesthetic for additional comfort.
How soon will I see a difference? What kind of results can I expect?
You can expect to see results within days after your treatment. The appearance of the area between your brows will continue to improve during the next week to two weeks. Factors that effect the duration of Botox include: frequency of muscle movement, severity of lines, skin integrity, muscle strength, age, hormones, medications and lifestyle such as smoking. The average Botox treatment lasts approximately three months.

There are no unexpected costs. The amount of Botox given is based on severity of the lines, strength and thickness of the muscle. Like most medical offices, we charge by the unit rather than "per area".
